
In 1994, a popular Interview With the Vampire film adaptation was released, which starred Tom Cruise as Lestat, Brad Pitt as Louis, Kirsten Dunst as Claudia, and Christian Slater as the reporter. Also starring in the series is actress Kalyne Coleman as Grace, Louis' sister, and Bailey Bass as Claudia, a young girl Louis and Lestat adopt and convert to vampirism. However, she remains credited as an executive producer on the show. Original author Rice sadly passed away before Interview With the Vampire season 1 could be completed.

Given how little is known about the series so far, it's not clear how much of the novel's events the upcoming episodes will cover. One of the series' locations is also seen in the teaser, as the two characters appear to be conversing in a church. The character of Lestat is seen with bloody fangs terrifyingly hovering over Louis as he delivers the line, "I give death to those deserving." Anderson's character looks on visibly shocked, while laying on the ground. Now, a new video teaser has been posted by AMC Networks on Twitter, featuring exciting clips from pivotal scenes between the characters of Louis and Lestat from Interview With the Vampire. AMC ordered eight episodes of the series, and a release date is yet to be announced. The story revolves around the vampire Louis, as he recounts his life story and journeys to a reporter, including his vampire origin and his mentorship by Lestat. Anderson's Louis is joined by actor Sam Reid, who is portraying the character of Lestat de Lioncourt.

The Interview with the Vampire series pilot was directed by Alan Taylor, who also previously directed on Game of Thrones, and most recently directed The Many Saints of Newark for HBO Max.
